Before joining Baxter, I held various positions within Retail and Customer Service. I was considering a job change, and at the time, a friend of mine told me about a position where she worked. The industry sector appealed to me, since it was so diverse from my previous experience. I applied for the job in 2002, and within a couple of weeks, I started working as a Customer Service Coordinator within the Medication Delivery Customer Service team.
Although I had no experience within the medical sector, the structured training provided allowed me to develop the skills I needed to deal with the varied queries from both internal and external customers. I was soon seeking extra challenges and responsibilities in my role, and these were both supported and encouraged by my line manager.
In 2004, I was recognised by the Medication Delivery business and was given an award for significant contribution to the business.
In June 2006, I was promoted to team leader. Customer Service then faced a restructure in September 2006, which created a separate Business Support team for Customer Services and Sales and Marketing. In November 2006, I applied for the position of Team Manager of this team and was successful.
To top off 2006, I was again awarded the Significant Contribution Award from the Medication Delivery Business. I also received a Recognition Award from Baxter for my work.
I feel that with the encouragement and support I have from my colleagues and managers at Baxter, allows me to develop and advance within the company.
