Baxter's Global Sustainability Efforts Recognised by Dow Jones Sustainability Index
Baxter has been named 2010 Medical Products Industry Leader of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) and the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index (DJSI North America). This marks the 12th consecutive year that the company has been listed in the DJSI and the ninth year the company has been named Medical Products Industry Leader since the launch of the DJSI in 1999.Baxter is a UK Brand Emission Leader
Baxter Healthcare's programme and achievements in the area of carbon management and disclosure have been recognised in a new UK based project. The Brand Emissions Leaders project aims to provide an annual rating of the carbon performance of the leading brands operating in the UK. To gain Brand Emission Leader status an organisation must do well in three areas:
1) Achieve absolute carbon reductions
2) Have relatively low carbon intensity
3) Have ambitious targets to reduce carbon emissions further.
British Safety Council Honour Baxter UK Sites
The British Safety Council award businesses on their occupational health and safety management. Baxter's manufacturing plant at Thetford has achieved the National Safety Award every year since 1982, celebrating 28 years of the award in 2010. Our Warehousing and Distribution facility at Northampton also received this award and celebrated 9 years of the award in 2010.
These achievements come through the continuing effort of all employees, especially environment, health & safety (EHS) representatives working as a team with all staff to maintain a high level of safety.
