Baxter and its employees worldwide support local communities through financial contributions, product donations, base of the pyramid initiatives and employee volunteering. Community service and employee engagement is a core principle of Baxter's vision and culture. UK employees have worked on projects that improve people's lives by addressing environmental, educational, civic and cultural community needs.
Baxter focuses its community programs in three areas:
• Access to Healthcare - Baxter works to improve access to healthcare globally through product development, base of the pyramid initiatives, philanthropic giving and product donations and grants.
• Critical Community Needs - Baxter makes financial and in-kind donations to address local community needs, such as improving education, protecting the environment and increasing patient safety.
• Employee Involvement - Baxter encourages employees to volunteer their time and expertise in their communities
Our UK VolunteeringRecent UK volunteering activities have included Our Compton Head Office staff helping out at local allotments and bulb planting at a local secondary school.
Our UK Charity DonationsBaxter raises money for many charities that resonate with us and our employees. A few examples are listed below:
In 2010 UK staff raised £6500 for Children in Need through a company talent contest
In 2009 NDC staff raised £11,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association
In 2009 35 UK Staff participated in the Great South Run for Children with Leukaemia
