Baxter International no longer manufacture HD instrumentation, however, Baxter continues to offer a full range of HD products. This includes dialysers, both synthetic and semi-synthetic; HD concentrates, priming solutions and ancillary products.
Haemodialysis
Haemodialysis is the removal of waste products and water from the blood through an artificial semi-permeable membrane. During treatment blood is pumped outside the body and through a dialyser that acts as an artificial kidney. Haemodialysis can take place in the home, in-centre or at a satellite unit.
